LORTA: Impact evaluations

Engagements

The IEU’s learning talks, workshops, and the GCF’s structured dialogues are key channels for sharing evaluation findings and insights on climate-relevant issues. They also contribute to nurturing a culture of evidence use across the Fund and its ecosystem. Through design workshops, learning talks, and international conferences, the IEU's LORTA programme engages a wide range of stakeholders, fosters collaboration, and reinforces the GCF’s position as a leader in evidence-based climate finance.

Annual design workshops

Each year, the IEU holds its annual LORTA impact evaluation design workshop, engaging directly with selected accredited entities, project managers, and monitoring and evaluation specialists to discuss the design and execution of high-quality impact evaluations. The interactive workshop provides participants with opportunities to learn about climate interventions and impact evaluation methodologies for measuring impacts across diverse topics and geographies.

Learning talks

The IEU hosts learning talks to share findings and reflections from its impact evaluations. These sessions present evidence from completed and ongoing evaluations and their implications for project design, implementation, and portfolio-level learning within the GCF.

International conferences and events

The LORTA team shares evidence from its impact evaluation projects at international conferences and forums, contributing to ongoing discussions on climate resilience, adaptation, and the development of shared approaches to assessing climate impact.
