IEU at the 2022 Asian Evaluation Week – Reframing Evaluation for Green, Inclusive, and Resilient Recovery

The IEU joined the 2022 Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) held virtually from 13 to 15 September 2022. The AEW is a leading evaluation knowledge sharing and learning platform in the Asia and Pacific region, organized by the Independent Evaluation Department (IED) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI).

Anastasiya Aleadysheva, Andreas Reumann, Archi Rastogi, Susumu Yoshida, and Yeonji Kim of the IEU spoke at the following three sessions:

The sessions explored the priorities and evidence of transformational change in investments to support climate action in the Asia and Pacific Region.

The session shared lessons learnt from recent evaluations on climate finance, including innovative instruments developed in support of climate action. Speakers also discussed how these evaluations informed strategic discussions and decision-making within their respective institutions and beyond.

Countries particularly vulnerable to climate change also face specific challenges in accessing climate finance. In this session, the panelists shared key evaluative lessons related to access to climate finance and adaptation efforts in vulnerable countries such as the small island developing States (SIDS) and the least developed countries (LDCs).
