The IEU will join the 2022 National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) Conference which will take place from 25 - 28 October in Turin, Italy. The NEC conference is convened by the Independent Evaluation Office of the United Nations Development Programme. Its 2022 edition will focus on the role of sharing progress and lessons leaned in strengthening national evaluation systems, and how these systems are essential for countries to 'build forward better' and get back on track toward the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr Anastasiya Aladysheva of the IEU will be speaking at two sessions:

  • Thur, 27 October 2022 | 9:00 - 10:30. Plenary 2: Rethinking evaluation to address the crisis in the Anthropocene.
  • Thur, 27 Oct |  14:00 - 15:15 | Oceania PAV. 173. Session B4: What can we learn from Sectoral Evaluation systems.

In both sessions, Dr Aladysheva will share insights from the IEU's Learning-Oriented Real-Time Impact Assessment (LORTA) programme. The LORTA programme aims to strengthen the capacity of GCF-accredited entities, implementing partners and project staff in assessing the impact of their intervention. Particular insights will be shared from the LORTA programme's first impact evaluation report, Impact Evaluation Report for FP002: Scaling up the Use of Modernized Climate Information and Early Warning Systems in Malawi

The conference will be livestreamed. Register for online participation here.
