Evidence review: Private sector

The evidence review on the private sector will inform the GCF’s strategic positioning and programming by synthesizing global trends, identifying gaps, and assessing the effectiveness of current engagement strategies.

The review aims to:

• assess the current landscape of private sector engagement in climate finance
• assess the relevance and effectiveness of GCF’s private sector engagement across its eight results areas
• provide strategic insights to strengthen the GCF’s Private Sector Facility and broader engagement mechanisms

The review will also help identify areas that require further assessment in the proposed private sector evaluation in 2026.
