IEU at Asian Evaluation Week 2025

The Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) of the Green Climate Fund participated in the 2025 Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) in Xi’an, China, from 1–5 September. AEW is a leading platform for sharing evaluation knowledge in the Asia-Pacific region, hosted by the Asian Development Bank’s Independent Evaluation Department in partnership with the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Finance.

Beyond Metrics: Evaluability Tools for Climate Project Success (2 September)
IEU-led session presenting lessons from evidence reviews, evaluability studies, and quality assessments, followed by panel and roundtable discussions.
Climate Urgency, Access, and Paradigm Shift (3 September)
World Café roundtable hosted by the IEU on challenges in accessing GCF finance and lessons from transformational change.
Environmental Evaluation for Resilient and Inclusive Growth (4 September)
Joint session with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), featuring IEU presentations on the health, food and water evaluation, water evidence review, and a LORTA impact evaluation case study.
Smart Moves for a Greener Future: Evaluating Climate Resilient Infrastructures (1 September)
Panel hosted by the New Development Bank, with IEU Director Andreas Reumann participating as a discussant.
Across these contributions, the IEU shared evidence and lessons from its evaluations to strengthen climate action and support learning across the global evaluation community.
