4th Conference on Evaluating Environment and Development
Washington DC
5 - 7 March 2024
The IEU will take part in the 4th Conference on Evaluating Environment and Development taking place in person from 5 - 7 March in Washington DC, United States.
Building on the success of its previous three Conferences, and as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, the GEF Independent Evaluation Office is gathering distinguished speakers and participants for two and a half days (March 5-7, 2024) of intensive discussions on evaluation in the context of environment and development.
This 4th Conference on Evaluating Environment and Development will focus on how evaluation practice has increasingly integrated the cross-pollination of environmental, socioeconomic, and policy domains. Conference panelists will bring a wealth of knowledge on active efforts to develop evaluation approaches and methods that better reflect the varied and complex relationships of the natural world and the larger systems in which evaluands are measured. Discussions will also contend with the art, science, and epistemological underpinnings of evaluation and the conscious shift toward more inclusive practice and the utilization of local knowledge.
Conference themes will include: evaluation systems, evaluation practice, measuring sustainability, and thematic evaluations on topics such as food security, adaptation and climate resilience, transformational change, and nature-based solutions (NBS).
