IEU Virtual Talk: Gender in Climate Change: Perspectives from WOCAN and GCF

Thursday, 25 March 2021 5-6 PM KST

Moderated by Yeonji Kim, Communications Officer, Independent Evaluation Unit.

About the event

March is Women’s History Month, and this month’s IEU Virtual Talk is dedicated to the theme of gender in climate change. Dr. Jeannette Gurung from WOCAN will make a case for jointly addressing climate and gender equality and present a methodology called the W+ Standard. Modeled on carbon standards, the W+ Standard can be used to measure, quantify, verify and report on women’s empowerment impacts, generated by carbon emissions reduction projects. Ms. Seblewongel Deneke Negussie from the GCF will serve as a discussant and speak about the GCF’s policies and tools designed to mainstream gender in climate projects.
