LORTA Virtual Design Workshop 2022

The IEU organized a three-week long online workshop as part of its Learning-Oriented Real-Time Impact Assessment (LORTA) programme. The LORTA impact evaluation workshop is a capacity-building event where participants extend their knowledge of conducting impact evaluations of climate adaptation and mitigation projects. This year it was mainly aimed at Direct Access Entities (DAEs) with national small-scale projects which are either approved by the GCF Board or have a concept note or proposal in the pipeline, and at participants who are engaged in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about different approaches to measuring impact, with a focus on experimental and quasi-experimental designs based on a theory of change. Participants also worked in small groups to develop and design an initial impact evaluation for a project they are designing or implementing.
