IEU Side Event at B.46: Evidence for Resilience? Rethinking Diversification and Specialization in Rural Rwanda
Incheon, Republic of Korea
28 October 2026
The Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) invites Board members, alternate Board members, advisers, and observers to a discussion on findings from the impact evaluation of the Green Gicumbi Project (FP073) in Rwanda. Drawing on evidence collected over multiple years, the evaluation offers new insights into how climate resilience is built at the household level, including a finding that challenges a widely held assumption that diversification is always the primary pathway to resilience. The session will explore the implications of these findings for the design and effectiveness of adaptation investments and more.
