The IEU Shares Inception Report on the GCF’s Country Ownership Approach

Today marks the release of the inception report of the Independent Evaluation Unit's (IEU) evaluation of the GCF country ownership approach. Country ownership and country drivenness are key considerations in GCF policies and practices. This report provides background on the concept of country ownership as well as the GCF mandate and context. It also delves into the purpose, scope, and methodology of the IEU's evaluation of the GCF country ownership approach. The report concludes with key deliverables and a detailed work plan of the forthcoming evaluation. The IEU will release its final assessment of the GCF country ownership approach in October 2019.
