IEU participates in Climate Funds Evaluation Meeting on side of UNEG Meetings
On 27 January, evaluation and learning teams of four climate funds gathered to discuss their key work areas and potential opportunities for synergies on side of UNEG Annual General Meeting. Evaluation and learning leads and experts from the GCF, Global Environment Facility, Adaptation Fund, and Climate Investment Funds presented the priorities of the respective Funds for this year. The IEU was represented by Andreas Reumann, Head of the Unit a.i., and Archi Rastogi, Evaluation Advisor a.i.
Andreas presented the workplan of the IEU, and identified key evaluations and potential opportunities for cooperation. Based on the key priorities identified, the teams discussed potential areas of collaboration and joint activities, including events at the UNFCCC COP28 in Dubai, and participation in other conferences. In addition, the evaluation experts discussed the possibility of joint publications and potential topics, including interests in areas such as energy, just transitions, transformational change .
Although this was the first such meeting, participants agreed to carry on the momentum, and continue to share lessons, including experiences on evaluation policies, uptake of recommendations, and state of the art on evaluations in climate.
