IEU at GGGWeek2022

The IEU will participate in two sessions of the GGGWeek2022, hosted by the Global Green Growth Institute from October 24 to 28 October 2022. This year's themes will be Unlocking the Potential of Green Growth and Climate Finance Innovations. 

Andreas Reumann and Genta Konci of the IEU will present the two following topics: 

Tues, 25 October. 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM KST. Role of National Financing Vehicle in Mobilizing Climate Finance & a Look at GCF’s Private Sector Approach

This presentation will cover key findings from the Independent Evaluation of the Private Sector Approach and illustrate emerging lessons from the concurrent second performance review of the GCF.  

Tues, 25 October. 8:00 PM-  9:30 PM KST. Enhancing Adaptation Capacities from Planning to Finance  

The presentation will give greater insights into the GCF’s adaptation capacities. The GCF is the largest multilateral climate fund and has the mandate to consider a balance between mitigation and adaptation. The IEU will specifically discuss the GCF’s adaptation approach and how it contributes to the wider climate action and climate finance sphere.

GGGWeek2022 is organized in the margins of GGGI’s Assembly and Council joint sessions, and in the leadup to the UNFCCC Conference of Parties COP27 to be held in Egypt. GGGWeek2022 will feature high-level panel discussions, keynote speeches, interactive sessions and debates that will highlight examples of solutions and best practices to advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement and NetZero pledges. The GGGWeek2022 provides engagement with global green growth leaders and practitioners, forge partnerships, and provide participants with learning and sharing opportunities across a range of sectors and topics to address the main theme of the event “Unlocking the Potential of Green Growth and Climate Finance Innovations.
